Fines and Chercos on the provincial jazz circuit

The programme will take place in fourteen municipalities with the Provincial Jazz Circuit.

On a boat leaving from the Port of Roquetas de Mar and with the best music provided by Teen Quintet, the ‘Jazz 2023’ programme has been presented, a project promoted by the Provincial Council and the Indaliana Foundation for Music and the Arts which includes the ‘Circuito Provincial de Jazz’ and the educational project ‘Ilusionando con el Jazz’.

Jazz 2023′ will be held in fourteen municipalities of the province in September, October and November with the ‘Circuito Provincial de jazz’, in which six concerts have been programmed, and the project ‘Ilusionando con el jazz’ in which six workshops and eight didactic concerts have been programmed.

The Vice-President of the Provincial Council and Deputy for Culture, Film and Identity of Almeria, Almudena Morales, accompanied by the musician Pablo Mazuecos, representing the Indaliana Foundation for Music and the Arts, together with mayors and councillors from the participating municipalities, have unveiled the keys to the ‘Jazz 2023’ project.

The vice-president stressed that “since 2012, the Provincial Council has been working to disseminate and promote jazz with performances by major groups, through the Provincial Circuits, and, above all, with the project of workshops and concerts ‘Illusionando con el jazz’ which is carried out annually by the Foundation. It is a pioneering educational initiative in Spain, aimed at musical groups in the province, especially music bands”.

Likewise, Morales stressed that “jazz, thanks to the work of the Foundation and other great projects throughout the province, is a musical style deeply rooted in our land and with many fans who support every initiative that is carried out. With this programme we support culture, live music, learning and our Almerian creators who have an unfathomable talent”.

For his part, Pablo Mazuecos has shown the enthusiasm of all the participants for “going ahead after more than a decade to reach more than fifty towns during all this time bringing them music and culture. We are very proud because in municipalities in other provinces, even in Madrid or Cataluña, jazz does not reach them as much as in Almería, and it is influencing them to programme proposals like ours”.

Finally, Mazuecos thanked the Diputación and all the teams of the town councils of the participating towns for their support, with whom, as he pointed out, “we have worked together to ensure that everything goes as we hope”.
