Start of the Dual Vocational Training cycles at Cosentino

The company hosts five degrees in the region, thanks to its collaboration with the IES Juan Rubio Ortiz of Macael and the IES Cardenal Cisneros of Albox.

The multinational Cosentino has held this week, at its headquarters in Cantoria, a welcome ceremony for the students and teachers of the educational centres that will carry out the vocational training cycles during this academic year at its facilities in Almanzora.

Cosentino reinforces one more year its commitment to quality Vocational Training, especially in its Dual modality, and has made official this Tuesday the beginning of the academic year 2023/24 in an event that has gathered in its headquarters in Cantoria more than 190 students and 16 teachers of the educational centres that will carry out the vocational training cycles in its facilities.

With the collaboration of the Juan Rubio Ortiz and Cardenal Cisneros Secondary Schools, the company has five degrees for this academic year, four of them in dual mode: Medium Degree in Electromechanical Maintenance (Dual); Medium Degree in Stone Processing (Dual); Advanced Degree in Mechatronics (Dual), in morning and afternoon shifts; Advanced Degree in Industrial Automation and Robotics (Dual); and a Specialist Course in Intelligent Manufacturing. For its part, it has increased the number of students enrolled from 159 last year to more than 190 who will start this new course.

In 2020, Cosentino became the first Andalusian company to host a dual training cycle in its facilities in its entirety, and since then it has redoubled its commitment year after year to this training project that facilitates the incorporation of graduates into the labour market, allows students to acquire skills in real work situations, and is a key lever for the employability of the industrial fabric. Proof of this is that more than 85% of young people who do Dual or FCT consolidate a place at Cosentino.

The midday ceremony was attended and participated in by Pablo Quesada, Director General of Teachers and Human Resources Management of the Regional Ministry, as well as Francisco Alonso, Delegate for Educational Development and Vocational Training in Almeria, who took advantage of the event to officially open the 23/24 school year. On behalf of Cosentino, Paco Robles, VP Global People of Cosentino Group; José Salas, Head of Talent and Development; and Ana Silvia Navarro, also from Cosentino’s Talent and Development area, were present.
