FC Cartagena announced on Saturday the dismissal of their coach Víctor Sánchez del Amo, following Friday’s defeat to Eibar in the seventh round of LaLiga Hypermotion.
“FC Cartagena SAD has taken the decision to terminate the contract of Víctor Sánchez del Amo as first team coach, as well as that of the rest of his staff team formed by Giannis Kontoes and Koke Contreras,” the club announced in a statement.
The Madrid-born coach arrived at Efesé this summer with a contract until 2025, but after taking three points from a possible 21, the club decided on a change of direction in the dugout. Cartagena thanked Del Amo for his work without announcing a replacement.
