
The municipal sports centre has been completely refurbished with a budget of 45,000 euros and the multi-sports courts, one of the most used infrastructures in the municipal complex, are now ready for use again. The Mayor, José Miguel Luengo and the Councillor for Sports, Sergio Martínez visited the courts, which have a new face after the renovation of the paving, fencing, nets, signage and paint, and improved lighting.
The Mayor, José Miguel Luengo pointed out “the high daily performance” of the refurbished courts which are used by the 280 students of the Municipal Tennis School, as well as by students of the Faculty of Sports Science, TAFAD of the IES Mar Menor, the local indoor football club “Patrulla Aguila”, the schools through school sports, as well as for personal rentals or the annual social tennis league.
José Miguel Luengo reiterated the Town Council’s commitment to sport and the progress and improvement of the municipality’s sports infrastructure, which includes the renovation of the multi-sports courts, which will also facilitate the arrival of new sporting events at the municipal facilities. “This is the best investment we can make in a municipality that we want to sustain on the values of sport, education and culture,” said the mayor, José Miguel Luengo.
