This Tuesday morning, an agreement was signed between the Purchena Town Council, represented by the mayor of the municipality, Pepe Luis Serrano, and Manuel Lorente on behalf of the Club Deportivo Ciudad de Purchena.
The signing took place at the Town Hall and the presentation of the shirt in the municipal pavilion, where more than seventy local boys and girls will play as locals in the categories, benjamín, alevín, cadetes, infantiles, juveniles as well as the senior team that competes in Segunda Andaluza, in men’s futsal. So far, the club also has teams in the youth and female cadet categories.
Last season the Purchena senior team reached the Cup final. This year, the categories have been expanded and it is hoped that not only the youngest members of the municipality will join the teams, but also those from the surrounding villages.
For the mayor of Purchena, “the council aims to give a sustained boost over time to the practice of sport, in this particular case futsal, and in this way encourage the children and young people of Purchena, the values of sport. We are pleased to see the pavilion full of life with the incorporation of more than 70 children from the locality, an effort where, without a doubt, the parents have a lot to do”.
It is worth mentioning that the council has invested more than 1.000 euros in sports equipment, mainly weights, bars and discs.
