The Local Police of San Javier discovered that he was wanted by the Guardia Civil for a report of mistreatment in Pilar de la Horadada.
The Local Police of San Javier arrested last Saturday afternoon a drunk driver who had an accident at a roundabout in the municipality. The man was being sought by the Guardia Civil for a crime of gender violence, having been reported for an assault on his partner that same morning in the Orihuela town of Pilar de la Horadada.
The 54-year-old Spanish driver was driving his vehicle on Avenida Academia General del Aire when he hit a traffic sign and collided with a roundabout. When the officers gave him a breathalyser test, he tested positive, exceeding the minimum permitted blood alcohol content.
On checking his identity and requesting his criminal record, the local police discovered that he was wanted by the Benemérita for having assaulted his wife that same morning. The suspect was arrested and taken to the Guardia Civil in San Javier.
