Free leisure activities at Weekend Azul, to be held from 3 to 5 November in La Manga.

La Manga del Mar Menor will host from 3 to 5 November the “Weekend Azul” an event which aims to raise awareness of the wide range of leisure, sport, beauty, health and culture possibilities offered by La Manga 365 days a year. The Councillor for Youth and Trade, Isabel Madrid attended the presentation of the event organised by the City Council of Cartagena in La Manga Consortium, which is part of the set of activities that are being carried out in the Sustainable Urban Development Strategy La Manga Abierta 365.

The EDUSI La Manga 365 is jointly developed by the City Councils of Cartagena and San Javier, the Ministry of Development and Infrastructure of the Region of Murcia and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), with the ultimate goal of providing new infrastructure, encourage and promote the tourism potential of La Manga throughout the year. The event offers locals and tourists 607 free places in various activities during the weekend of 3 to 5 November.

The Weekend Blue activities will start on Friday 3 November with the possibility of participating in a kayak route, SUP route, kite surfing initiation, Efoil course, visits to the lighthouse of Cabo de Palos and the concert of La Saga from 17h on the beach of El Turco.

On Saturday 4 November there will be more than ten activities that require prior registration, such as a hiking route through Calblanque, which will start at 09:30h from Calareona, bike routes, kayaking and SUP and surfing courses and kite surfing initiation.

Other activities on the programme include a sailing trip around the Mar Menor (departures at 12:00 and 16:00) and the activity “Get to know the territory”, a route around the Mar Menor on board a Menorcan boat in which a biologist will show participants the fauna and flora of the area.

On Saturday 4th November there will also be an aerial yoga course and a diving baptism for which three sessions are scheduled (10:00h, 11:30h, and 13:00h), as well as concerts by La Saga and Los Recortables.

On Sunday 5 November the events continue with hiking routes through Calblanque and a bicycle route through Marchamalo and a transparent kayak route through Cabo de Palos. There will also be surfing, diving and efoil activities.

On Sunday morning you can also book to see the best views of La Manga from the Cabo de Palos lighthouse and many surprises that are also part of Weekend Azul and in which all those who use the hashtags #LaManga365 and #AzulWeekend on Instagram and Facebook can participate.
