The municipal groups of the PP and Vox in the City Council of Cartagena have signed a pact to govern the municipality for the next four years that includes 70 proposals from their respective programmes, as reported by ‘popular’ sources in a statement.
With this agreement, both groups aspire to «overcome the current deadlock» through the development of a «common» programmatic agreement that will be driven from a government «in which the councillors of Vox will be integrated».
The aim is to «guarantee institutional stability and promote the reforms, investments and policies that Cartagena needs», added the same sources.

PP and Vox consider it «essential» to overcome «the blockage that has been observed during the beginning of the legislature» and give the government and the Plenary «the stability that is necessary to act effectively at the service of citizens and prevent partisan debates and interests hinder the implementation of policies and projects that Cartagena urgently needs at a time of transformation».
Thus, they have drawn up a programmatic agreement made up of 70 proposals aimed at promoting employment, boosting industrial transformation, designing new urban planning, increasing tourism and improving the lives of citizens with «more efficient» services.
This agreement will be developed by a government in which the councillors of the Vox municipal group will be integrated. The Popular Group has stressed that «the new majority that the two groups will have together will not be an obstacle to continuing to seek agreement with the rest of the political groups present in the Plenary», because «the aim of the pact is to make decisions with the greatest possible consensus».
«Both groups have their own and different ideologies, but we focus our agreement on the great area of coincidence that our programmes maintain, from the conviction that the best way to work for the people of Cartagena is to generously overcome maximalist and dogmatic positions,» says the statement.
And «we do so aware that we have two out of every three votes cast in the last municipal elections, but convinced that the government we are going to build will be at the service of all Cartageneros», it concludes.
