Once again this year, CompromisoRSE and Equipos&Talento organised the «Sustainability Day», a national benchmark event on sustainability, which was held in the auditoriums of the Reina Sofía Museum in Madrid. Now in its third edition and under the slogan «Towards a sustainable future», the event brought together more than 650 representatives of companies, organisations, institutions, startups and NGOs in a unique day that addressed the main trends and the most inspiring actions to build, together, a more humane and sustainable world.
The forum concluded with the presentation of the «Sustainability Actions 2023» awards, aimed at recognising the most outstanding initiatives in sustainability, divided into six categories grouped by Public Administrations, companies, organisations, educational entities, start-ups and NGOs. In the business category, Cosentino won the award for its commitment to renewable energies and self-consumption, as reflected in the start-up last year of one of the largest industrial photovoltaic installations for self-consumption in Spain and Europe. The company was represented at the event by Jose María Pantoja, Head of Communication and Corporate Reputation, who collected the award.
It is worth remembering that last year saw Cosentino implement a new industrial energy model based on renewables and self-consumption, which also extends to the management of water resources. The company activated the aforementioned photovoltaic installation on land with more than 37,000 solar panels on a surface area of 32 hectares, and a peak power of 20 MW. This installation has been complemented this year with a second phase consisting of the installation of 27,000 more panels on the roofs of its factories located in the company’s Industrial Park in Cantoria.
