“Transversal”, Cosentino and Paralela’s proposal at Marbella Design & Art

Until 12 November at the Palacio de Congresos de Marbella.

The Almeria-based studio Paralela, directed by the architect Pedro Francisco and the interior designer Alexia Martínez, has signed one of the most outstanding proposals of the current edition of Marbella Design & Art, a benchmark fair for avant-garde design that brings together today’s most outstanding designers, together with the leading firms in the habitat sector, until 12 November. Under the concept “Transversal”, the space devised by Paralela seeks originality, reflecting the meaning of deviating from the main direction. A proposal that, behind the functional, evokes an ambiguous “temple” capable of transporting the visitor to other places of memory.

“Transversal” takes shape in a space as if it were an empty box, perforated with an earthy, almost stony materiality. A box that is covered and protected at its entrances with a superimposed strip that, as it is introduced into the space, is transformed into equipped walls, where different constructive elements appear in its interior. A play of materialities that generates a transition from the ethereal (the reflections of light) to the more tectonic (the stone). This concept of architectural temple is possible thanks to the wide versatility of applications of Cosentino surfaces, which give it elegance, design and real sustainability.

Particularly noteworthy is the use of the designs from the Pietra Kode collection by Dekton®, inspired by the beauty of classic Italian stones, giving the space a purely Mediterranean essence, a journey that starts in Almeria. Thus, we can appreciate the use of the Sabbia design in the floor and furniture panels and cladding; Marmorio in the wall coverings; and Grigio in the bathroom and staircase applications. Dekton® colours that become the essence of “Transversal”. For its part, the touches of elegance and distinction are provided by the use of the Line Delight shades of Silestone® Urban Crush in the wall recesses and, above all, the imposing Parisien Blue colour of the Le Chic series by Silestone® in the worktop of the island that presides over the centre of the space, and the worktop and washbasin in the bathroom area.

In addition to Cosentino, Paralela’s proposal has the outstanding support in terms of product placement of the companies Naturtex and Adelantia, as well as the additional collaboration of more than ten other firms La Gubia, Ecoclay, Nexia, Bora, Blau or Mármoles Amorós linked to lighting, decoration or taps, among other areas.

Other spaces have also opted for Cosentino surfaces.

Design, distinction and real sustainability of innovative materials have also been chosen by other proposals present in Marbella Design & Art. This is the case of the kitchen firm Inko from Malaga, which for its stand has relied on the versatility of Dekton® for its application in construction and decorative elements. Thus, Inko’s space has a spectacular floor in the colour Albarium, a façade in Kira, a table top in the Laurent design and an impressive kitchen, with island, worktop and front in the Ceppo di Gre shade of Pietra Kode. On the decorative side, the stand is guarded by different pedestals made of Dekton® Arga and Orinoco granite from Sensa by Cosentino®.

Another important name repeating this year in Marbella is the interior designer and designer Mar Vidal, who has chosen the colour Posidonia Green from Silestone® Sunlit Days for her brightly coloured and eminently Mediterranean space, both as a countertop for the main kitchen island and as a tabletop in the living room area. Silestone® is also present in the kitchen with a worktop and cladding in the new Victorian Silver by Silestone® Le Chic.
