
The peña El Cantazo met in the auditorium of the Town Hall of San Javier to deliver a total of 22,476 euros from the proceeds of the last edition of Oktoberfest San Javier 2023 to three charities. In a ceremony attended by the mayor, José Miguel Luengo, the president of the peña, Ricardo Luna handed over the three cheques, each worth 7,492 euros, which were collected by representatives of the Aidemar Early Intervention Centre; Crece con Dabadá, dedicated to children with autism and Stop Fa, dedicated to the fight against Friedreich’s Ataxia.
The Mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo thanked the solidarity that the peña El Cantazo has given to this event which attracted thousands of people from 11 to 14 October last in the municipal marquee. During those days 30 members of the peña dedicated themselves to the cause by working in the management and development of what is the only officially recognised Oktoberfest in the Region of Murcia by the Bavarian beer company Paulaner, which sponsors the event. The music, the atmosphere and the typical costumes of the German region of Bavaria made the rest for the success of this initiative of the peña El Cantazo, which has the collaboration of the City Council of San Javier.
