The Route of the Tapa is back for another year as part of the San Javier fiestas programme with the participation of 23 establishments which from today, Friday 17th November until 6th December, will try to surprise the public with their original gastronomic proposals. In fact, the public will be able to vote for what they consider to be the best tapa in the competition which in this edition, for the first time, goes from a trophy for the winning establishment to two nights in a hotel for two people, sponsored by El Águila.
In turn, the public will also be eligible for various prizes that will be awarded to encourage their participation in evaluating the proposals from bars and restaurants. Voting will take place in a tracking booklet that can be requested in the establishments, where the tapas that have been tasted can be rated. If they pass 10 and 15, they will be eligible for various prizes such as dinners for two and lots of products that will be raffled among the cards handed in on 8 December.
This year, the Ruta de la Tapa, organised by the Department of Commerce, has 23 catering establishments, of which 18 are bars or restaurants that will offer tapas and five will offer cocktails. The price of the tapa with drink, as well as the cocktail, will be three euros.
