
The celebration of Santa Cecilia, patron saint of musicians, on 22 November and the desire to reach out to local residents and out of the classroom is at the origin of the extensive and varied program “Music in November”, which has organized the Conservatory of Music of San Javier, with the collaboration of the City of San Javier. The series of concerts, auditions, master classes and activities, presented by the director of the Conservatory, Francisco Javier Martínez together with the councillors for Culture, David Martínez and Education, María José Bernal, starts on Saturday 11th November with a concert by the Camerata de la Orquesta Filarmónica de San Pedro Sula, Honduras, which will take place in the church of San Javier at 20:00h.
The musical activity in the town, which will continue until the 1st of December, will resume on the 19th of November with the San Javier Symphony Orchestra which will celebrate its patron saint by participating in the mass at 12h in the church of San Javier and with a concert in the Plaza de España at 13h. In addition to the daily auditions of the students, there will be other events such as the last concert of the “San Javier en Clásica” series, on 25th November “Con Antonio Martínez Cánovas”, a flute and guitar recital by Mariano Bas and Gillermo Grau. There will also be a Master Class on drums with the Murcian musician Alberto Marquina and the workshop “A journey through rhythm”. The programme includes the participation of the pianist Ramón Muñoz with “The piano in German culture”, and a final concert by the Youth Orchestra conducted by Pedro Rebollo, on 1 December.
