He tries to beat up police officers after telling them he fled Cartagena for abusing two women.

A man has been arrested in San Javier accused of attempting to beat several police officers and even toilets, after spontaneously saying that he fled Cartagena because two women had denounced him for gender violence, something that does not appear in police databases.

The events took place at around a quarter past one in the morning on Sunday, at the door of a kebab shop where the individual had already been making a fuss, after drinking alcohol to excess. According to sources close to the case, this man, whom the municipal officers identified when he was urinating on cars in a street, visibly drunk, admitted to having slapped a woman «twice» after seeing some messages on her mobile phone that he did not like.

When the officers explained to him that he had to go with them (either to his home or to the Armed Forces) to be identified, as he was not carrying any documents, he started to become aggressive.

«I already spent a year in prison in Peru for robbing banks,» the man told the officers who identified him for urinating on cars in a street in San Javier, visibly drunk.

Specifically, according to the same sources, he allegedly called the policemen «motherfuckers», told them that he had a Glock pistol with which he intended to kill them and said: «I already spent a year in prison in Peru for robbing banks». On the way in the police vehicle, he began to headbutt the officers. And the aggression escalated. At the medical centre where he was taken for an examination, he attacked the police officers guarding him on several occasions. When he was taken to the cells of the Guardia Civil, the body responsible for carrying out the investigation, he attacked another officer.

It so happens that, although the individual claimed that two women had denounced him for male violence, these denunciations do not appear in the police databases. None of them. Nor in the VioGen system, so the police suspect that he made it up. He was, however, arrested. He is now facing a charge of assault.
