The Deputy of Agri-Food Promotion, Carlos Sánchez, He has visited this week with the Mayor of Albox, María del Mar Alfonso and members of the corporation, three of the local companies that could become part of the Gourmet label; Las Pocicas pastry, Quiles and Almazara Fernando Jiménez olives.

Sánchez has had the opportunity to transfer to his managers, the advantages that joining Sabores Almería can bring to them. “We are a brand of excellence, with more than 120 companies in the province. Joining this label will open new business opportunities for them, they will be able to improve their training and above all, continue to grow, ”he assured.

Pastry ‘Las Pocicas’, with Marilina Sánchez and her son Miguel in charge, are working at full capacity these days because the Christmas campaign is one of the most important seasons of the year. A company that produces typical sweets in an artisanal way, such as drunkards, shortbreads, Easter cakes, greaves, cocadas, and thus a long list of delicatessen, for three generations.

Aceitunas Quiles, a company that has ten workers and exports most of its natural black olive to countries such as France, Italy or England.

And the Fernando Jiménez Oil Mill. One of the most important in the province of Almería and where more than ten million kilos of olives are milled each year. The ‘Aceite Valle del Almanzora’ brand is already the sixth generation of a family that has been dedicated to olive oil forever. With facilities in which the most modern machinery is used, they received the person in charge of Almería Flavors and the mayor of Albojense, in the midst of the olive campaign. “We are convinced that our companies can obtain many benefits by joining Almería Flavors. They will be able to attend numerous fairs and thereby open new markets. Get in touch with top-notch producers, distributors, restaurants. Even, as the Deputy has explained to them, they help them process all kinds of aid from European funds and carry out their expansion projects, ”said the mayor, María del Mar Alfonso.

The Albox City Council trusts that several companies in the municipality will join the gourmet brand ‘Sabores Almería’. “This is only the beginning, the first of the visits, but we are already working so that other Albox companies can count on a meeting with the Deputy of the area and learn first-hand what this project means,” adds Alfonso. And it is that Albox despite being one of the municipalities in the north of the province with the largest number of ventures, until now, none of its SMEs belongs to the agri-food brand promoted by the Almería Provincial Council. “It is time for Albox and its companies to have the institutional support they deserve, we are convinced that adhering to Sabores Almería will bring them numerous benefits,” concludes the mayor, María del Mar Alfonso.
