García Ibáñez’s work was inaugurated, which pays tribute to organ donors

The work is located at the entrance to the Torrecárdenas University Hospital.

The Government delegate, Aránzazu Martín, has inaugurated the sculpture of Andrés García Ibáñez, as a tribute to organ donors in an act attended by the author of the work, together with the managing director of the Torrecárdenas University Hospital, Manuel Vida, the regional transplant coordinator, Domingo Daga, the councilor for Security and Public Function at the Almería City Council, María del Mar García Lorca, the provincial deputy, Esther Álvarez, as well as the Alcer’s client, Marta Moreno and Eduardo Moreno, transplant patient who has wanted to offer his testimony to the attendees.

Martín has shown his gratitude to all those families who “in one of the hardest moments of their lives decided to say yes to organ donation in order to save the lives of others.”. “Hundreds of people have improved their quality of life and even saved it thanks to donations.”. “And this is evidenced by the data with the start of 61 organ and tissue donation protocols, at the Torrecárdenas University Hospital, 21 at the Poniente University Hospital and 30 organ and 23 tissue donors have been obtained.”.

The sculpture, carved in marble, has been located in memory of donors, in the area of the main access to the Hospital.
