The municipality of Albox has lived this Saturday its first Zambomba Flamenca. This year’s Christmas programme has many new features, and one of them has been precisely this flamenco party by Rumba Kimbao.
The pictures speak for themselves. Numerous groups of friends and families filled the Plaza Mayor. Despite the cold, the people of Alboja enjoyed a magical night dancing and singing Christmas carols in a town where peace, tranquillity, harmony and good relations between neighbours have returned to normal.
Tardeo por Navidad is the proposal of the town council that every Saturday of this Christmas is celebrated in the two main squares of the town, this 23rd of December it has been in the Plaza Mayor, and next Saturday, 30th of December, it will be the turn of the Plaza San Francisco.
The bar set up in the squares is run by the local Cofradías (brotherhoods), the members of the different brotherhoods taking advantage of the occasion to raise funds. There were attractions for the little ones and a DJ played the prelude with lights that warmed up the cold evening at the beginning of winter.
Shortly before nine o’clock in the evening the group Rumba Kimbao took to the stage. Artists from the Almanzora region who perform a show that includes traditional Christmas carols and those that are played these days in such emblematic places as Jerez de la Frontera and in the depths of the Andalusian geography.
«It is a joy to see the town with such a great atmosphere. Albojenses of all ages are enjoying Christmas together. The Zambomba Flamenca de Rumba Kimbao has been a great success, and we still have a lot to share in these special festivities» assured the Mayoress of Albox, María del Mar Alfonso during the party which then went on until late into the night in bars and gastronomic establishments.
