The town of Albox was once again the protagonist in the parade of Their Majesties the Three Wise Men. Despite the alert for strong gusts of wind, the weather finally respected one of the most magical days of the year. As planned, at half past five in the afternoon, Melchior, Gaspar and Balthazar began their official route from the Velázquez School.
This was one of the novelties this year. They set off again from La Loma and went through the streets of the Barrio de San Juan, as has always been the tradition and as the residents themselves demanded, until they reached Avenida Pío XII and Plaza José Miras Carrasco.
Their Majesties were accompanied by numerous neighbours and associations of the municipality who this year were once again the protagonists along with the Three Wise Men on their journey through Albox; Romans, Egyptians, living sweets, little bells or princes and princesses, threw sweets from half a dozen floats decorated by the AMPAS of the Virgen del Saliente and Velázquez Schools, the Villa de Albox Sports Club, groups of friends and family and numerous animations, which have made it possible for tonight’s parade to once again be the most family-oriented in recent years.
«Recovering our traditions and that the people of Albox are the protagonists of everything we do is our commitment, that is why this parade returns to be as it always was the journey of Their Majesties through Albox, accompanied by our children, and all the associations that have wanted to participate. Today is a day for them, and they deserve to enjoy it first hand» said the Mayoress of Albox, María del Mar Alfonso.
Joy, surprised faces and more than 1,500 kilos of sweets thrown from the heights. Melchor Gaspar and Baltasar closed an intense day in the municipality of Albox that began early in the morning touring the different districts in minibus and stopping in all their squares. The little ones from the neighbourhoods of Las Pocicas, Llano de los Olleres, Locaiba, La Aljambra, Plaza El Cañico and La Molata also received a visit from the Three Wise Men.
