Provincial Council of Almeria mobilises resources to promote solar energy in municipal buildings

The Governing Board calls for tenders for the DUS5000 projects that will be implemented in 19 municipalities in all the districts of the province of Almeria.

The Provincial Council of Almeria has already mobilised more than 2 million euros for the promotion of renewable energy and solar energy in the municipalities of the province. This has been confirmed by the deputy of Development, Antonio J. It consists of investments that are co-financed by the Next Generation funds and the Provincial Council itself.

All the projects to be implemented in Almeria have as a common link the generation of renewable electricity for self-consumption in the premises of the municipalities, with the consequent savings for the municipalities’ coffers.

These savings will result in more investment and well-being for the municipalities”.

A Plan to equalise opportunities

The DUS 5000 Plan initially has a budget of 6.4 million euros, which will be co-financed by IDEA (3,620,930.11 €) and the Provincial Council (2,810,690.29 €) and will make renewable energy installation projects a reality in 59 municipalities.
