Agents of the National Police have arrested three men and two women as alleged members of a criminal network dedicated to the sale of drugs in the area of Mar de Cristal, in the municipality of Cartagena.
Specifically, they have been arrested as alleged perpetrators of crimes against public health and fraudulent use of electricity, as they are considered to be responsible for several properties that were being used for the sale of narcotic substances and the cultivation of indoor marijuana plantations.
An investigation carried out by specialised agents of the National Police in their constant fight against the dismantling of points of sale of narcotic substances on a small and medium scale led them to the Cartagena town of Mar de Cristal.

After the relevant judicial authorisations, the agents proceeded to enter and search six properties that were being used for the sale of narcotic substances as well as for the cultivation and development of indoor marijuana plantations.
The agents seized almost 1,000 plants in an advanced state of growth, 340 grams of high purity cocaine, a double-barrelled short gun and a precision scale. The National Police also seized various equipment used for the cultivation of this type of plantation: 166 light bulbs, 165 transformers, 57 fans, 18 air conditioners and 14 extractors.
The perpetrators, several of whom had previous convictions for other similar offences committed in the past, were placed at the disposal of the Duty Court of Cartagena so that the appropriate precautionary measures could be adopted. They are five people, four of them Spanish nationals and one Moroccan.
