
The Town Hall of Albox has presented the National Arts Festival ‘Primavera Albox 2024’, an event that stands out for its inclusive approach, and the celebration of various artistic events during the months of April and May and that become an attraction not only for the residents of the town, but for the entire region of Almanzora.
The Festival will begin on 6 April with the IX ‘Certamen Internacional de Lied y Canción de concierto’ (9th International Lied and Concert Song Competition). An event that will allow the audience to enjoy duets of pianists and lyrical singers of international level in the Federico García Lorca Assembly Hall, with free admission.
A week later, on 13th April, in the same location, the 16th edition of the ‘Certamen Nacional de Música de Cámara’ (National Chamber Music Competition) will be held. Those who attend will be able to enjoy everything from duos to sextets, a real opportunity for chamber music fans in the north of the province.

The ‘Martín García Ramos’ International Youth Poetry Competition is now in its 23rd year. On 20 April the Festival will host a new edition of this Young Poetry Prize, which stands out for awarding unpublished and original poems written in Spanish by young poets from all over the world under the age of 30.
The national Spring Festival Albox 2024 includes a new edition of the National Declamation Contest, which will soon be a quarter of a century old. On 27 April, Albox will witness the art of declamation in this national contest; rhapsodists from all over Spain will share everything from classics to original and unpublished poems. Admission will also be free.
And during the second half of May, the Festival will put the finishing touch to this interesting cultural agenda with the 53rd edition of the ‘Certamen Nacional de Teatro Aficionado’ (National Amateur Theatre Competition). From the 16th to the 26th of May, the ‘Grupo de Teatro Muñoz Seca’ Auditorium will be the stage for theatrical diversity, with daily performances of all kinds of genres for audiences of all ages. In this case, ticket sales will be available at the box office, with special prices for seniors and students.
The Mayoress of Albox, María del Mar Alfonso, is confident that this Festival «will continue to grow with the support of the Town Hall. Above all, because our commitment is to open it up to everyone, so that the people feel it as their own. This spring we will have a great cultural programme,» she concludes.
