More than 350 people and about twenty groups of friends and family members registered this year to participate in the Albox Carnival. With a massive turnout, as the response in the registration period guarantees that the participation figures of previous years could be exceeded.
The municipality of Albox is one of the first to host this festival in the Almanzora region. This Saturday, 3rd February, the first part of its Carnival 2024 was held. Groups of friends and families dressed up to enjoy one of the most fun parties of the year with the parade, after party and fancy dress competition.
The Carnival Parade 2024 began its route at 6pm from the Plaza San Francisco, in the Barrio de La Loma and, after travelling through the main streets of the municipality, arrived at the Water and Health Centre Auditorium to celebrate in a big Carnival party.
«This year we are betting on local groups and groups, I am sure we will enjoy the originality that has always characterized the Albox carnival» explains the mayoress of Albox, Maria del Mar Alfonso, very satisfied with the response of the neighbours «there is already a very significant number of registered residents participating in the contest and that guarantees that this year the attendance will be massive».
Among the novelties of this edition, after the carnival parade, the Water and Health Centre was the place chosen to celebrate the Carnival Party. Once the parade was over, at 9.30 p.m. there was a concert by Los Vinilos and at midday, several DJ’s livened up the evening.
The area around the Centro de Agua y Salud was also decorated with bars run by local leisure establishments, children’s attractions and food stalls throughout the area.
