The Guardia Civil is investigating two men and two women from San Javier for allegedly simulating the theft of their mobile phones in order to collect compensation for them.
The operation began when two residents of the coastal town reported the theft of their mobile phones to the Benemérita. Each of them told of the different circumstances in which unknown persons had taken their mobile phones.
The Guardia Civil initiated an investigation to clarify the complaints, identify the culprits and recover the allegedly stolen objects. However, in the course of the operation, the investigators located the mobile phones in second-hand shops.

The investigations led to the identity of the sellers, who, coincidentally, were the partners of the complainants. Apparently, in order not to arouse suspicion, they made the sales in their own names.
Simulation of a crime
The findings of the investigations were presented to these alleged false complainants, leading to confessions about the real purpose of the complaints: to collect from the insurance company or to obtain a free replacement of their phone.
The operation culminated in the investigation of four people as alleged perpetrators of the offences of criminal simulation and fraud.
