On the 17th of March from 12 noon, the Plaza del Olmo in Zurgena will be the setting for the first edition of the St. Patrick’s Day festival.
The large number of residents of Irish and British origin in general who live in Zurgena and the surrounding area, has prompted the council to formally promote this celebration, as explained to La Comarca Noticias, Antonio Segura, Councillor for Culture.
«I think we are pioneers in incorporating this celebration into the calendar of festivals in the area. San Patricio is closely linked to neighbours who now live in Zurgena and that is why we wanted them to live and enjoy it with us. It is part of integration and coexistence; a good excuse to carry out activities that benefit everyone.

Antonio Segura, Councillor for Culture of the municipality of Zurgena. On Sunday 17 March, there will be beer stalls, food, live music, a dessert competition, lots of greenery and everything you need to celebrate this Christian festival in honour of the Patron Saint of Ireland.
