21 people arrested and cocaine and hashish seized in police operation in Mazarrón

The Ucrif of the National Police organises a deployment in Cañada Gallego and in the centre of the Port.

A total of 21 people arrested, more than one hundred identified and substances such as hashish and cocaine seized. This is the balance of the operation carried out in Mazarrón by the Unit Against Immigration Networks and Documentary Falsity (Ucrif) of the National Police of Murcia, in collaboration with the Local Police of the coastal town and the Labour Inspectorate, according to police sources.

It was an operation «to control public safety, illegal immigration and the monitoring of documentation of people, vehicles and public establishments in the municipality,» the same sources said. Specifically, the investigators were deployed in the town of Cañada Gallego and in the centre of Puerto de Mazarrón.

Of the hundred or so people who were identified, 21 were arrested and taken to police stations as alleged perpetrators of an immigration offence: some were in Spain illegally, others had an expulsion order in force or were prohibited from entering the country.
