
The Albox Town Council has launched the ‘Senderos Albox 2024’ (Albox 2024 Paths) programme. A poster presented this week by the mayoress of the municipality, María del Mar Alfonso and the sports councillor, Martín Martínez Porcel, and which will allow hiking enthusiasts to discover the most special environments of the municipality and at the same time, travel to very characteristic enclaves of the province of Almería.
The programme includes eight events until next November and begins this Sunday 25 February, with the first destination with a full schedule. This is the Genoveses – Monsul Trail.
The next event will take hiking enthusiasts to ‘Agua Amarga – Las Negras’ on the 14th of April.

On 20th July the programme proposes a night walk to Calar Alto.
On 21 September, a Night Trail will allow walkers to discover the beauty of El Saliente.
On 29th September, the programme includes a Path along the Umbría de La Chaparra.
On the 20th and 27th of September there will be the ‘Historia Al- Bujs XII-XIII’ trail through the Aljambra Tower, Terdiguera Tower and Alcazaba/Fortress.
On 10 November the agenda includes a proposal especially for the whole family with Multi Aventura in El Saliente.
The calendar closes with a trail organised together with the Provincial Council of Almeria to the PR-A 300 Estrecho de Urrácal.
«The Trails Programme is a sporting and recreational activity, aimed at the whole family, with which we want hiking enthusiasts, residents of our town and even our region, to get to know our environment. Hiking is another way of promoting rural tourism among those people who do not yet know some of the most beautiful corners of our town,» said the mayoress at the presentation.
For his part, the councillor for sports highlighted «the importance of this type of programme and said that the Town Council is working to improve the offer through the approval of several trails in the area of the Saliente Sanctuary».
