One more year, Olula distinguishes its most distinguished neighbours.

As every 28th February, the municipality recognises the work and trajectory of neighbours, companies and collectives.

Once again this year, the Nave Polivalente of Olula del Río has been the venue chosen to celebrate the Day of Andalusia. As every year since Antonio Martínez Pascual has been the Mayor of the town, along with the traditional migas (200 kilos of flour have been used) the awards were presented to neighbours, associations, companies or groups, recognising their work and contribution to the community.

At the ceremony held this Wednesday morning, eight people received awards: Antonia Fernández González, the Hermandad de la Pasión, the Municipal Tennis School, the Sánchez family linked to SEAT, Francisca Sanchidrián Valdés, Bernabé Sáez Granados, Juan Luis Fábrega Teruel and María García Vizcaíno.

The events began at 11 a.m., where the more than five hundred attendees were also able to enjoy traditional dances by the Trini Villegas Municipal School and a performance by the Coral sentimiento, who sang the anthem of Andalusia.
