The territorial delegate for Employment, Enterprise and Self-Employment, Amós García Hueso, highlights the connection between the Escuela del Mármol de Fines and the natural stone business sector. The school, a Vocational Training Centre for Employment attached to the Andalusian Employment Service, is committed to providing up-to-date, cutting-edge training to meet the changing needs of the sector and improve business competitiveness.
García Hueso emphasises the importance of maintaining an open line of work with companies, public and private entities, and public administrations to adapt the school’s programming to the real needs of the sector and the region. The school seeks to be a promoter of professional qualifications, offering expert advice and adapting to the new model of Vocational Training for Employment, which includes a commitment to Dual Training.
The main mission of the Escuela del Mármol de Fines, as a National Reference Centre for Vocational Training in the extractive industries family, is to constantly update and improve training in the natural stone sector. To achieve this, it maintains a constant dialogue with companies and collaborates in initiatives at European level.

Within the framework of its 2023-2025 programme, the school is committed to reducing unemployment in the province and providing qualified professionals for the natural stone and related sectors. Training actions financed by the Regional Ministry of Employment are being developed, aimed at more than 330 people with more than 41 training actions and almost 5,200 teaching hours.
Among the novelties included in the current programme are the alternating training contracts for young people, the extension of professional internships and the provision of training actions for employed workers in the marble sector. The aim is to achieve 100% labour insertion for the school’s students.
Currently, the Escuela del Mármol de Fines offers three training itineraries: craftsmanship and restoration of natural stone, operation and maintenance of mining machinery in open-cast mines, and programming and operation of numerical control machinery. These itineraries include comprehensive training in specific subjects, occupational risk prevention, basic digital skills and techniques for active job search.
In addition, the school acts as an Acredita Centre, helping people to accredit their professional competences acquired through experience or non-formal training. This provides an opportunity for those workers who wish to improve their CV and career.
