The drought which is affecting the autonomous community of Andalusia more severely than others in the rest of Spain has meant that the reservoirs are at 20.46 percent of their capacity.
The Almanzora Region is no stranger to this reality, and municipalities such as Arboleas are already suffering these restrictions, having been declared in our province as having a «severe shortage» of the liquid element, along with other towns such as Carboneras, Los Gallardos, Garrucha, Mojácar, Albox, Antas, Cuevas del Almanzora, Taberno, Huércal Overa, Vera and Zurgena.
This has been ratified by the Drought Management Commission of the hydrological demarcation of the Andalusian Mediterranean Basins at a meeting held in Malaga.

In the aforementioned municipalities, the resources are limited to 200 litres per person per day and are only allowed for survival, irrigation in gardens, public parks and golf courses, and a maximum allocation of 200 cubic metres per hectare per month is established. In the case of filling private single-family swimming pools, both filling and refilling are prohibited.
In this sense, the Arboleas Town Council has taken the first steps and delegated the Local Police to monitor compliance with the regulations reflected in a municipal notice issued by the mayor’s office on 29 February.
