Los Planetas, one of the reference bands of a way of understanding indie and alternative rock for more than three decades, will be present for the first time at Cooltural Fest in its seventh edition, which will be held from the 15th to the 18th of August in the city of Almería.
The band from Granada are the stellar confirmation of the new batch of names added to the line-up of an event that continues to grow both in styles and proposals as well as in the power of a list of bands and artists that today also includes El Kanka, who accumulates ‘sold out tickets’ wherever he goes, Ojete Calor and his casual humour and proof of any kind of boredom, Cala Vento and his powerful punk rock and Varry Brava and his danceable and quality indie-pop.
As usual in the festival organised by Crash Music together with the Department of Culture, Traditions and Major Festivities of Almería City Council, these confirmations have been announced with a surprising action for the most adventurous ‘coolters’ who signed up for an activity carried out with the collaboration of Stellantis And You, which has communicated before anyone else the new confirmations by taking a ride around the city with one of its cars.
These five names join a list that already includes the British Two Door Cinema Club, Amaral, Dani Fernández, La Oreja de Van Gogh, Carlos Sadness, Iván Ferreiro, La Casa Azul, La Plazuela, Ladilla Rusa, Pignoise, Rayden, Sexy Zebras and Shinova. Not forgetting a great welcome party (on the 15th) with Despistaos, Ciudad Jara, Merino, L.A., Nunatak and the future winners of the band contest and a firm commitment to emerging bands with a bright present and a better future such as Aiko El Grupo, Candela Gómez, Delafé, Georgina, Isla Lavanda, Lisasinson, Mafalda Cardenal, Montana, Niños Luchando, Querido, Tú Peleas Como Una Vaca and Vis Viva.
It should be remembered that Cooltural Fest 2024 will have a much larger space after the extension of the venue planned for this summer. There will be a total of more than 23,000 square metres, not counting the square metres of parking, backstage area and spaces of pure logistics of everything that involves installing and developing a festival of this size. The maximum capacity to be reached with this expansion is approximately 20,000 people, with all the necessary spaces to offer comfort areas and greater comfort.
