The Socialist Municipal Group in the Purchena Town Hall, through a press release, claims to have echoed «the complaints of families whose sons and daughters study at the San Ginés public school and has urged the PP government team to put the heating in this educational centre which has been without fuel for two weeks».
According to the socialist spokesman, Eusebio Santos, the students and teachers «have had no heating during the coldest days of winter that we have suffered in recent weeks» and has reproached the PP mayor and his team for not acting diligently from the first moment they knew of this problem. The socialist leader recalled that the maintenance of the school is the exclusive obligation of the town hall, which includes «the supply of heating».
The deputy mayor of Purchena considers the attitude of the socialist group in the Town Hall to be «dastardly».

«The procedure carried out by the civil servants has been exemplary, especially when it comes to the welfare of the children. The responsibility for the lack of supply lies solely with the company,» said the spokesman for the government team, Joaquín Navío.
The reaction of the government team to the accusations made by the opposition was not long in coming. The Purchena government also sent a communiqué in response to the lack of heating in the CEIP San Ginés.
Joaquín has expressed his «astonishment» at the statements made by the leader of the opposition about the alleged neglect of the government team with the heating of the public school of San Ginés and considers it «essential» to be informed before criticising.
The spokesman for the municipal government described the attitude of the socialists in Purchena with the latest events, especially those concerning the school, as «dastardly and despicable»; «they take advantage of any moment and any circumstance to criticise the work being done by the Town Hall, implicating politicians and civil servants without distinction. Their only objective is to politicise all the bodies that do not depend on the council, something that speaks of the real interest they have».
For the deputy mayor, «the request for the refilling of the heating tanks has been made for a week to the company REPSOL, which, after an administrative problem of its own, is responsible for the full supply. Moreover, the contact between the Town Hall staff and the company’s administration to resolve this situation has been permanent. This week the tanks will be refilled».
In this sense, he recalls that, «in addition to a periodic review carried out by the company’s technicians and supervised by the Town Hall, the school has reported the lack of fuel once it has been completely exhausted. It is essential to have good foresight for something as important as heating on winter days».
