The first Volunteer Scholarships that will be awarded thanks to Grupo Reche Fernández and the Tíjola Book Bank, already have a name.
It is María Luisa Martínez Pando, a native of Tíjola. She is 28 years old and has a degree in Hispanic Philology. María Parra Navarro is from Olula del Río. She is 22 years old and has a degree in Primary Education, with a major in Physical Education, and Ana María García Gómez, also from Tíjola, who is 22 years old and has a degree in Business Administration and Management.
For Eugenio García López, one of the people in charge of the Tíjola Book Bank, which has been collaborating with ACOES (Asociación Colaboración y Esfuerzo) in Honduras for years, «these three volunteers will have the opportunity to collaborate in different ACOES projects, all aimed at helping those most in need. The scholarship holders will leave in July and will be in Honduras until September. I would also like to thank the involvement of the Reche Fernández Group, who collaborate to make this possible. At the beginning there were going to be two scholarships available but they decided to pay for one more scholarship, so the Book Bank will pay for one scholarship and Grupo Reche Fernández for two».

The history of ACOES dates back to 1992, when the Spanish missionary Patricio Larrosa, moved by the situation of a group of primary school children who were unable to study, decided to get involved with the needs of a community.
Last December, the 16th container left Tíjola for Honduras, the third of the year 2023, with thousands of products that make life a little easier for children in this Central American country.
