The bathing waters of Andalusian beaches are within the established quality levels, according to the report drawn up by the Regional Ministry of Health and Consumer Affairs during the days prior to Easter in an extraordinary sampling, at the same points where it is usually carried out during the summer season, as part of the Health Monitoring Programme for Bathing Waters on the Andalusian coast. This study is based on the analyses carried out by the Directorate General for Public Health and Pharmaceutical Organisation.
The Regional Ministry has carried out tests in 276 bathing areas. Specifically, 361 samples were taken in a total of 62 Andalusian municipalities. The water samples have been analysed to determine the different parameters required by the current regulations, such as macroscopic parameters, transparency, colour, mineral oils, presence of persistent foam and floating solids, organic remains and any other residue -glass, plastic, rubber, wood-, which may affect the healthiness of the water and is considered to be of health interest.
By provinces, in Almeria, a total of 91 samples were taken at the 91 points surveyed, which are spread over 78 bathing areas in 13 municipalities in Almeria. In Cádiz, 82 samples were taken at 77 census points, spread over 57 bathing areas in 16 municipalities.

In Granada, sampling was carried out at 38 registered points in 30 bathing areas in 10 municipalities. In the province of Huelva, 50 samples were taken at 50 census points, spread over 25 bathing areas in 9 municipalities. Finally, in the province of Malaga, a total of 97 samples were taken at 97 census points, spread over 85 bathing areas in 14 municipalities.
The results obtained in the bathing waters analysed are within the quality levels established in the regulations for microbiological parameters and the visual inspection is compliant.
