The Civil Guard of the Commandery of Almeria, in collaboration with the private security company «Guardería de Campo», has located and confiscated a large trap and a cage trap, prohibited equipment used for poaching, in a hunting reserve located in the municipality of Enix (Almeria).
This operation, which forms part of the Guardia Civil’s work to prevent and combat illegal hunting and poaching and its commitment to the care and conservation of wildlife in the province of Almeria, was carried out by members of the Guardia Civil of SEPRONA and the Rural Guard, and is the result of the good relationship and collaboration between the Guardia Civil and the various private security companies operating in the province.
The Guardia Civil was aware of the presence of various types of prohibited hunting equipment, thanks to the constate communication that exists between the Guardia Civil and the Rural Guard, in this case a Guardia de Campo, which was carrying out surveillance in the area known as the Barranco de la Ventilla, in the municipality of Enix (Almeria).

As a result of the information received, SEPRONA personnel from the Civil Guard in Almeria seized a large handmade trap, measuring 120x63x45, which had been installed in the aforementioned game reserve, as well as a cage trap in the vicinity, which was not in use and in an advanced state of disrepair.
It should be noted that the use of this type of prohibited trap is not only very dangerous for the animals, but also poses a serious risk to people enjoying the natural environment.
