Carmen Crespo visits Albox and supervises the work carried out on the Llano de los Olleres water tank.

The Regional Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development, Carmen Crespo, visited the municipality of Albox on Monday morning to see first-hand the work being carried out jointly by the Junta de Andalucía and the Albox Town Council on the water inlet and outlet of the reservoir located in the hamlet of Llano de los Olleres affected by the landslide in 2020.

It was then, when, due to the heavy rains, a landslide occurred which caused the breakage of the pipes located next to the road, affecting the filling of the Llano de los Olleres and Las Pocicas reservoirs and the supply to the Llano de los Olleres and Locaiba districts and the Saliente and Oria wadis.

In March of the same year, the Albox Town Council carried out work on the installation of provisional pipes, laying temporary networks with which it was possible to re-establish the supply to the affected areas and the maintenance of the reservoirs. However, these temporary networks have nominal diameters of 50-63-75 mm, when they would correspond to 160-200 mm for the high networks, and 75 mm for the supply to the population centre of Llano de los Olleres; in addition to running on the surface, causing a rise in the temperature of the water in summer, an unfavourable situation which contributes to the proliferation of bacteria.

In this way, the action called IMPROVEMENT OF HYDRAULIC INFRASTRUCTURES FOR URBAN USE: NEW INLET-OUTLET CHANNELS OF THE LLANO DE LOS OLLERES WATER DEPOT, with an investment of more than 200,000 euros, will allow the execution of the renovation works of the inlet and outlet pipes of the LLANO DE LOS OLLERES WATER DEPOT, which have been affected by earthworks.

After analysing the existing problems in the area and with the aim of guaranteeing the water supply to the area dependent on the supply system to which the Llano de los Olleres New Reservoir belongs, it is necessary to undertake the work of modifying the layout of the pipes along the access road to the reservoir and replacing them with suitable diameters, as well as repairing and paving the access road to the reservoir.

The actions carried out are as follows:

DEMOLITION AND PREVIOUS WORK: partial demolition of the existing pavement, with the necessary surface area to carry out the excavations for the supply pipes.

SUPPLY NETWORK: trench excavation will be carried out for the subsequent laying of the pipes.

CIVIL WORKS: the manholes for the singular elements, such as cut-off valves, suction cups and pressure reducers, will be made.

PAVING OF ASPHALTIC ROADS with a 6 cm thick layer of hot asphalt concrete, type AC-22 SURF/35-50/S.
PAVING OF ROADS with 20 cm thick HM-20 concrete on levelling.
WASTE MANAGEMENT: Throughout the course of the work, an exhaustive control of all the waste generated will be carried out in order to manage it through an authorised company.

The visit was attended by the Andalusian government delegate, Aránzazu Martín, the delegate for Agriculture, Antonio Mena, who were received by the mayoress María del Mar Alfonso and the councillors who are members of the corporation.
