Rock will be lived and breathed in Zurgena on August 24 with the celebration of the Rail Festival, a musical event that was born with the aim of lasting over time and that brings two of the most famous bands of this genre to this municipality of Almanzora. such as Medina Azahara and La Guardia. The Almeria rock group Los Lagartos completes the line-up, who will perform their versions of national and international pop-rock, and the local artist Dj See.
The La Estación de La Alfoquía venue in Zurgena will host this concert that will take place starting at 10 p.m. on August 24. The vice president of the Provincial Council and deputy for Culture and Cinema, Almudena Morales, and the mayor of Zrugena, Domingo Trabalón, have announced the details of this cultural proposal.
The vice president explained that thanks to this event “all the residents of Zurgena and nearby municipalities will be able to enjoy a quality event with two of the most representative bands in the history of national rock. These activities enliven the cultural and social life of our towns and, especially in summer, and are very attractive in order to increase visitors to the ‘Costa de Almería’ destination.”
For his part, the mayor of Zurgena has indicated that “this is the first edition of a festival that arises with the intention of continuing. This festival was born in this railway station that closed years ago with a historical claim to the Almanzora region. This cultural attraction and this historical claim that our region has is accompanied by first-class music.”
The legendary rock band Medina Azahara continues its long and successful musical career, and presents its latest album project El Sueño Eterno, after having positioned itself within the Top 3 in sales indices with its previous work Arrived El Día (2021) and Arrived El Special Edition Day (2022), being one of the most recognized albums in this period.
La Guardia has a career full of musical hits such as A Thousand Streets Lead To You, The World Behind the Glass, There Will Be No More Laters, Blues de la Nacional II, When the Sun Shines, Where the River is Born, Tomorrow, The Road, Lucía, among a long repertoire. A fireproof group, which is already celebrating its 40th anniversary by making its audience enjoy it.
