Porretas, Miguel Costas, La Excavadora and La Rabia will rock out at the 39th edition of Rock Albox

The Albox City Council has presented what will be the Poster for the thirty-ninth edition of Rock Albox. A legendary festival in the punk rock scene within the national panorama and one of the longest-running festivals held in all of Spain.

The iconic Madrid band  Porretas  heads the bill with their energy and unforgettable classics. Those from Hortaleza will bring to the Almanzora region classic songs such as “El grandad fue picaor”, “Si nos dejáis” or “Marihuana”. A band with a powerful live performance and lyrics from local people with clear and simple messages.

The charismatic Galician artist  Miguel Costas , founder and former member of Siniestro Total and Aerolíneas Federales, will return to the municipality of Albox thirty-nine years later to offer a repertoire full of great hits that have marked several generations.

La Excavadora , a band that includes Txiki (Gatillazo or La Polla Records) and Pela (Marky Ramone) among its members, will bring its strength to Albox as part of the “Quien manda aqui” tour. Punk rock assured for an identity festival throughout the national territory.

The La Rabia poster closes   with its combative and self-management proposal. La Rabia does not hide the profile of hundreds of musicians raised in the musical quarries of the region.

This year’s poster is just a small sample of everything that is being prepared for the fortieth anniversary to be celebrated next year. In the words of the mayor, María del Mar Alfonso “we have tried to put together a good poster for this year within our possibilities. We are committed to Rock Albox, it is an event that is part of our history and we have worked to bring groups from the national scene back to this festival on a stage known throughout the country. This is a declaration of intentions, it is the preview of what is to come. Next year will be a festival where we will try to live up to the celebration. We are already working on it.”

Rock Albox is historically the beginning of the Albox Fair. The event will be next October 26 at the Fairgrounds and tickets are already on sale online at  www.ayuntamientodealbox.com

The City Hall hall was the location chosen to unveil the poster and groups of this Festival that the new government team wants to reactivate so that it shines again as it did years ago. Mythical groups such as La Polla Récords, Eskorbuto, Siniestro Total, Barricada, Farmacia de Guardia, Los Ilegales, Rosendo, Seguridad Social, Dover, Los Suaves or Inmaculate Fools have passed through Rock Albox, to name just a few of those who put Albox in the highest. These are just some of the names that have marked the history of rock and that in recent decades have attracted thousands of rock, punk, ska, reggae and hardcore lovers to this town in the Almanzora region.

The councilor, Luisa Granero, has been responsible for the organization, and she has been in charge of explaining the work carried out to close the poster. “The people of Albojenses have been involved, collecting ideas and proposals with the aim of making it more participatory. A first step for rock lovers to regain their enthusiasm for their festival, which will celebrate its fortieth anniversary next year,” she said under the watchful eyes of numerous neighbors who attended the event.

The presentation ended with the acoustic performance of the Albojense group La Rabia, which will also take the stage on October 26.
