Cosentino officially opened its first “City” in the Basque Country. Operating since last May, the showroom is located in Plaza Euskadi (Ramón Rubial, 4), at the foot of the Iberdrola Tower, and presents different areas and functions in its more than 300m2 to become a reference space for design and architecture professionals in Bilbao and the whole of the Basque Country.
The Almeria-based company was accompanied at the event by almost 100 clients, collaborators and professionals from the city linked to the fields of architecture, design, construction and building, marble workers and kitchen stores. Chef Karlos Arguiñano, who has been linked to Cosentino for years through his cooking programmes, as well as his sister Eva and his son Joseba Arguiñano, also did not want to miss this event.
The company was represented by Eduardo Cosentino, Global Vice President of Sales and CEO of Cosentino North America; Eduardo Martínez-Cosentino Ramos, VP of Sales for Iberia; Mario Yohn Echevarría, Cosentino Manager for Bilbao and the Cantabrian Region; and José Manuel Cruz Alvarado, Manager of the San Sebastián Center. The event was also coordinated and directed by Edurne Mollá, Manager of the City of Bilbao, accompanied by María de la Yglesia, City Specialist.
With this opening, the company consolidates its commitment to Euskadi, where it has been operating its own business for more than two decades through its warehouses in Lemoa, opened in 2002, and Oiartzun in Donosti, also opened in the same year. With this “City”, the company takes a further step in its commitment to its Basque customers and partners, making available to them a dynamic and open place where both professionals and individuals can learn about the latest developments in its Silestone®, Dekton® and Sensa by Cosentino® surfaces, as well as their various applications, which include countertops, facades, flooring, cladding and bathrooms.
This is possible thanks to immersive and experiential spaces such as the Atelier, a workshop and complete library of materials where the firm’s surfaces are mixed with other products such as wallpapers, fabrics, handles, lighting or even taps, allowing professionals to work on their own designs as if they were in their own studio; different digital displays that function as a virtual gallery where you can appreciate the colours and finishes of the products in real size; exhibition areas for facades and bathrooms; even a spectacular functional kitchen, ideal for organising showcookings and meetings.
Bilbao is evidence of the continuity of Cosentino’s strategic commitment to the expansion of this pioneering model of experiential showroom. The company currently has 33 facilities of this type located in the main cities of the world such as Sydney, Milan, London, Dubai, Miami, Paris, Tokyo, New York and Sao Paulo, among others. In Spain, the firm has «Citys» in Madrid, Barcelona, Mallorca, Malaga and, now, in Bilbao, and plans to open two new showrooms in Alicante and Almería in the coming months.
