In the municipality of Zurgena, the authorities have described as “historic” the decision of the Andalusian Government to provide 312,022.96 euros for the construction of a Day Centre for the use and enjoyment of the town’s elderly.
For Mayor Domingo Trabalón, “it is about meeting the demand of our residents with a centre that will have 31 places and will allow for the creation of quality jobs.”
The total cost of the work amounts to 488,406.91 euros and is part of the projects promoted by the regional government. The delegate for Social Inclusion, Youth, Families and Equality, Francisco Bellido from Olula, travelled to the town where the model of the unprecedented work was presented.
In Almería alone, the delegate said, work will be carried out in the residences of Tíjola, Benahadux, Lucainena de las Torres, Lúcar, Laujar de Andarax, Cantoria, Albox and in the one belonging to the Provincial Council. Likewise, the day centres of Vera, Macael, El Ejido, Los Gallardos, Olula del Río, Zurgena and Pulpí will benefit, as well as the centres and residences of various entities in the sector, such as FAAM, Down Almería, Asprodalba, the Almería Association for Brain Damage (Vivir), the Verdiblanca Provincial Association for People with Disabilities and Los Jardines de Cerca.
