The Provincial Council of Almería, with its firm commitment to promoting sport for all the people of Almería and bringing sporting events to the province, is carrying out different circuits of different sports modalities. One of these circuits that is already being developed and will do so until August is the Provincial Swimming Circuit.
This sporting event has seven events in different locations throughout the province, held during the months of July and August, and which also has different categories.
Different distances are thus established for various categories: minors will cover between 100 and 200 metres; open, children and junior will cover 1,000 metres; the absolute, Master A, Master B, Master C and Master D will cover 2,000 metres; while the adapted category will be able to participate in any of the distances.
The Vice President and Deputy for Sports, Healthy Living and Youth, José Antonio García, has expressed his satisfaction because this circuit allows swimming enthusiasts to compete with a calendar of events and different modalities: “Two events of the Provincial Swimming Circuit have already been held. It is one of the most eagerly awaited circuits and is a benchmark in Andalusia in the world of swimming events and will cover the entire Almería coastline.”
“It is a circuit in which we try to achieve this inclusion through sport. We have categories of participants from school age to adapted categories. We are very proud because people with and without disabilities are going to participate. It is a circuit that also highlights our sports tourism resources, as well as our beaches, while promoting sports practice in the summer season and promoting the practice of sports on our beaches,” added the Vice President and Deputy for Sports, Healthy Living and Youth.
The Provincial Swimming Circuit, which is organised by At-sport events, includes seven events, two of which have already been held, in Almerimar (El Ejido) and in Palomares (Cuevas del Almanzora). They will soon arrive in Mojácar (28 July), Garrucha (3 August), Balerma, in El Ejido (11 August), Balanegra (17 August) and Almería (24 August).
