Club Deportiva Villa de Albox has made its debut in the Andalusian Women’s Cadet Third Division F-7. It did so with the first female team to be registered in this category in its history and facing Villa de Fines.
The day of last Friday, September 20th will be remembered and that is why there were many people from Albox who did not want to miss the opening at the Las Ventas Football Field. The mayor of Albox, María del Mar Alfonso and the president of the Club, Juan Ramón Pérez, accompanied the girls’ team that played for the first time in this category. «This is a very important step in the sport of our town, although there have been many girls who have played in mixed teams previously within our football school, this is only the beginning of everything we want to do for women’s sport,» said the mayor in an event that was experienced as a real party. «I want to congratulate the club and thank them, because together with the collaboration of the City Council, these young women will be able to fulfill their dream» she concluded, before the photo for the memory.
The commitment to work for real and effective equality in both the participatory and competitive aspects of women’s sport in the municipality was one of the points of the agreement signed between the City Council and the Football Club last year with the arrival of the new governing team. Hence the firm steps that are already being taken this year in this regard.

The Cadet team will make its debut on Friday, and in a few weeks the Alevín will do so in the second Andalusian F-7, to compete with 12 teams from all over the province of Almería.
The intention is to continue growing, «next season we want to have a women’s 11-a-side football team in Albox» said the president of the Club, Juan Ramón Pérez, at the launch of the first federated women’s football team in the town.
