Coinciding with the start of the school year, all the Sports Schools and Workshops in Albox are getting up and running. Throughout the month of September and the beginning of this month of October, all the activities planned in the town’s sports facilities have begun, bringing together hundreds of residents of all ages, within the wide range of activities available.
Swimming, athletics, volleyball, paddle tennis, chess, rhythmic gymnastics, tennis, kick boxing, boxing, basketball, football, bachata, ballroom dancing, sevillanas and healthy lifestyle habits. All of them are part of the offer launched this year by the Albox City Council that seeks to cover all the tastes and concerns of the people of Albox.
“The aim is to promote the values of sport among children and young people, encouraging healthy lifestyle habits and promoting that our children share positive experiences” says the Mayor of Albox, María del Mar Alfonso.
The Albox City Council, in collaboration with the clubs and sports entities of the municipality, allows young people to start a wide variety of sports, encouraging a life away from a sedentary lifestyle and promoting values as important as effort, perseverance and improvement. “With this offer of sports schools and workshops we try to reach everyone, so that everyone finds a discipline that they like and, ultimately, that they practice sport. Of course we also work so that our children and young people develop social skills such as camaraderie or teamwork” added the Councillor for Sports, Martín Martínez Porcel.
Most classes have already started, but anyone who wants to join can go to the sports area of Albox City Hall in the Las Ventas Sports Pavilion and take part in this new course that begins these days and will run until next June 2025.
