The Civil Guard of the Almería Command has clarified the theft of a vehicle that occurred in the municipality of Serón, where the rapid filing of the complaint and the provision of photographs of the vehicle were essential for its immediate location and arrest of the alleged perpetrator of the theft in the town of Olula del Río.
This action is part of the plan developed by the Civil Guard of the Almería Command for the prevention and resolution of crimes related to property and the socio-economic order in the province.
The investigation began in mid-August, when the Civil Guard learned of a vehicle stolen from a vehicle parked on a road in the municipality of Serón, through a complaint filed by the owner.

On the same day, Civil Guard personnel from the Macael Post carried out a search operation where they located the stolen vehicle in the town of Olula del Río, proceeding to carry out the corresponding visual inspection of the same, where a large amount of damage and defects were observed in the bodywork and paint, in addition to the faulty gearbox.
The Civil Guard personnel in charge of the investigation, using different technological means, managed to fully identify both the driver and the co-pilot who were driving the stolen vehicle that same morning in the municipality of Serón. In addition, thanks to the collaboration of citizens, a detailed reconstruction of the events was carried out, where it was determined that the alleged perpetrator of the theft drove the vehicle from the municipality of Serón to Olula del Río, spinning it and hitting the containers and the walls of houses until the gearbox broke and it got stuck in a street, forcing him to abandon it.
As a result of this investigation, the Civil Guard of the Almería Command clarifies the theft of a vehicle committed in the municipality of Serón, recovering it in the town of Olula del Río hours later and arresting the alleged perpetrator for the crimes of Theft or Robbery of Use of a Motor Vehicle and Damage.
Both the proceedings and the detainee are made available to the Purchena Single Court of Instruction.
