The Civil Guard of the Almería Command has arrested three young men, two aged 28 and one aged 26, for the crimes of drug trafficking and disobedience and serious resistance to authority. This operation has allowed the seizure of a hundred marijuana plants, as well as lamps, extractors and various materials that were to be used for the establishment of an indoor grow shop.
These actions are part of the strategies for preventing and combating drug trafficking that the Civil Guard carries out continuously throughout the country. Citizen collaboration, together with the efficient coordination of the different territorial units, has been key to the arrest of those responsible and the transmission of information about other possible targets involved in the investigation.
The operation was initiated after a citizen alert received at the Command and Control Center of the Civil Guard (062), which reported the presence of several individuals who were loading marijuana plants into a large van in the town of Dalias. After completing the load, the vehicle headed towards the town of El Ejido, which prompted the activation of territorial patrols of the Civil Guard to verify the information and prevent the possible criminal offense.

Once the alert was received, the Command and Control Centre organised an interception operation in the vicinity of the access to the A7 motorway, anticipating the possibility that the vehicle would try to take alternative routes towards El Ejido. Patrols from the Service Centre and the Laujar Civil Guard Post moved to the area to establish a perimeter control on the surrounding roads with the aim of blocking possible escape points.
After a few minutes, the deployed units spotted a van that matched the description provided by the citizen. After stopping the vehicle and stopping it on the hard shoulder, the officers proceeded to inspect it and identify the three occupants. During the search, a total of 102 marijuana plants were found inside, along with 12 lamps, 2 extractor tubes, 1 air filter and various electrical materials, elements typically associated with the cultivation of this substance.
After confirming the illegal nature of the cargo, the officers proceeded to arrest the three young men for alleged drug trafficking. During the process, two of the vehicle’s occupants tried to flee towards a nearby area of bushes, actively resisting at all times.
Finally, as a result of this action, the Civil Guard located and arrested three people who have been charged with the crimes of drug trafficking and serious disobedience and resistance to authority, who have been placed at the disposal of the Court on Duty in El Ejido along with the seized material and drugs.
