The governing team of the Albox City Council hopes to be able to fulfil in a few days one of the commitments made to the transport sector of the municipality. A vital group for the local economy and which has historically provided employment and wealth for the entire Almanzora region.
With the reduction proposed by the government of María del Mar Alfonso, the municipality of Albox will become one of the towns in the entire province of Almería with the lowest tax on mechanically propelled vehicles. The new ordinance means a reduction of up to 70% for Mechanically Propelled Vehicles (IVTM). A significant tax reduction for new vehicles during the first 6 years, which will mean a saving of more than 200 euros/year.
As an example, a tractor with more than 25 fiscal horsepower will pay 25.2 euros/year, when right now it is paying 133.25 euros/year. And the trailer, the category of more than 2,999 kg of useful load, is currently paying 133.28 and with the reduction proposed by the current government team, it will pay 25.2 euros/year. The set will pay 50 euros per year, when today it represents a cost of more than 266 euros/year.
For vehicles older than 6 years, the new government proposes that, regardless of the year of registration, a 37% reduction be applied, thanks to the increase coefficient being lowered to 1. The same tractor that currently pays 133.28 euros/year will now pay 84 euros/year. The same will happen with the trailer. Therefore, in this type of trucks older than 6 years, they will benefit from a saving of almost 100 euros/year for each set.
“With this tax reduction, Albox will have the lowest tax on motor vehicles in the entire Almanzora region. Our governing team has promised to support the transport sector and we are going to fulfil our promise. It is a vital sector for the development of the municipality and we want to make things easier for them. I hope that everyone who left at some point will return to their town,” concludes the mayor of Albox, who hopes that the measure can be approved unanimously at the next municipal plenary session.
