The Civil Guard trains local police officers from the province of Almería

The Civil Guard of the Almería Command is developing training sessions aimed at Local Police Corps from different municipalities in the province of Almería, consisting of a series of specific training actions aimed at Agents of the Local Police Corps that share demarcation with the territorial units of this Command, with the aim of improving collaboration and reaction to any type of emerging threat.

The main objective of these sessions is to jointly and coordinately automate a response for self-protection and intervention in the event of unexpected violent events, whether by organised groups or by people with mental disorders, under the influence of psychotropic substances or any other type that requires an immediate reaction especially aimed at protecting people in public spaces and neutralising the threat.

Within the training and instruction program of the Command of the Civil Guard of Almería, continuous, specific and practical training is carried out in the face of unforeseen violent acts, both by organized groups and by people with mental disorders, under the influence of psychotropic substances or of any other kind that requires an immediate reaction, especially aimed at the protection of people in public spaces and the neutralization of the threat, in a coordinated and safe way for the intervening personnel themselves.

One of the fundamental premises when attacking an action of this type and complexity is the coordination and establishment of a single command post, an action necessary when several police forces intervene jointly.

The latest terrorist attacks in Europe, as well as the numerous and usual attacks carried out by lunatics in the USA and other countries, have unleashed social alarm and fear that these events will happen again. Indiscriminate attacks are chaotic and especially tragic, since they are usually carried out with firearms and explosives due to their lethality.

Fortunately, in Spain, these types of attacks are rare and those that have occurred have been caused by sleeper cells of Islamic terrorist groups, which are difficult to detect due to their complexity and structure.

The reality is that these terrorist actions are increasing in Europe, a fact that makes it advisable to prevent in order to mitigate the terrible effects of one of these attacks as far as possible. This is a very serious threat to public safety, and as such, requires specific policies and actions such as the training carried out by the Command of Almería.

This contributes to improving collective security in the province. These indications are basic and useful, so that an immediate action protocol is established for any member of the security forces and bodies that is providing citizen security services, in order to manage the crisis leading to the immediate neutralization of this threat.
