PP: the Junta’s 18.8 million euros in aid for marble will be a boost for the sector

The Andalusian MP for the Popular Party of Almería, Ángeles Martínez, has highlighted the commitment of Juanma Moreno’s Government to the natural stone sector, key to the Almería economy, which the Regional Government has supported from the Ministry of Industry with the launch of the Plan Crece Industria, with an investment of 400 million euros and to which is added the recent approval of aid amounting to 18.8 million euros aimed at modernising the industry and supporting the sustainable development of the stone and marble value chain.

In the Andalusian Parliament, Ángeles Martínez has highlighted the “entrepreneurial spirit of a region with family businesses that have managed to turn this area into the most important hub for companies dedicated to natural stone craftsmanship, with an international character and with works spread throughout the world”. Of course, she has added to them the great multinational Cosentino, one of the best ambassadors of the Andalusia Brand, generator of employment and wealth and a benchmark in the province of Almería and worldwide.

In her speech, the parliamentarian from Almería encouraged companies in this sector to apply for this new line of aid to implement new industrial capacities, expand or diversify existing ones, and incorporate digital technologies in production processes. Aid that is also aimed at improving energy efficiency, the use of renewable energies, circular economy initiatives or the regeneration of spaces abandoned by industrial activity.

On the other hand, the PP parliamentarian has recalled that the Junta has been committed to the Mármol region by putting into service infrastructures such as the Almanzora motorway promised by the socialists in 1985, opening the collaborating technical office a year ago thanks to an agreement with the Macael City Council and the Business Association, or supporting the Fines Marble School in the budget with more than 350,000 euros.

Lastly, Ángeles Martínez highlighted that thanks to the Government of Juanma Moreno, Andalusia has left behind the stagnation caused by the socialist governments to become the second autonomous community in number of companies, reaching historic export figures and becoming an attractive destination where investors set their sights.
