The Civil Guard of Almería has arrested a 27-year-old young man in Vera with an extensive criminal history for robberies committed inside vehicles, thefts and damage to property. His criminal activity had generated concern among residents of the towns of Vera and other nearby towns such as Cuevas del Almanzora, especially during the past Christmas holidays.
The investigation began in mid-December after reports of several thefts in vehicles parked in garages in the aforementioned town. Agents from the Vera Civil Guard Post, in collaboration with patrols from the Cuevas del Almanzora Civil Guard, began investigations to identify the alleged perpetrator of the events. In the course of the investigations, it was determined that, in addition, the suspect was subject to a court order to search, arrest and enter prison, issued by the Criminal Court No. 1 of Almería. The detainee, with an extensive criminal history for crimes against property, adopted constant concealment measures and lacked a fixed address, which made his location significantly difficult. In addition, he had the collaboration of other individuals in the area, who provided him with logistical support and facilitated his mobility with the purpose of evading justice.
Given this circumstance, the Civil Guard established a specific surveillance and monitoring device, carrying out an exhaustive analysis of its movements based on various sources of information and strategic observations in the environments it frequented. As a result of these actions, and after meticulous location work, the agents managed to locate the individual and proceed to arrest him in the town of Vera.
This action is part of the actions implemented by the Civil Guard to prevent vehicle thefts in the eastern area of Almería, with special impact on the town of Vera and the neighboring municipalities of the Valle del Almanzora region. The intensifications of surveillance devices together with investigative work have been decisive in the identification of the alleged perpetrator.
Finally, the detainee is charged with crimes of theft inside vehicles and damage to property, committed in several residential garages. The operation remains open with the objective of identifying possible collaborators who have facilitated the commission of these crimes.
The proceedings carried out, together with the detainee, have been sent to the Court acting as guard of Vera, who executed the order to enter prison in compliance with the pending request of the Criminal Court No. 1 of Almería.
