The storm of rain and snow that hit the Almanzora region this Sunday prompted the intervention of the Civil Guard, who came to the rescue of the unsuspecting drivers.
Vehicles trapped in the snow in the municipalities of Serón and Bacares had to be assisted by Civil Guard personnel, as can be seen in the image.
In Bacares, at around 3 p.m., Civil Guard officers assisted two people and their pet.
In Serón, another operation took place around 4 p.m., and in the municipality of Armuña del Almanzora, an elderly couple whose vehicle had become stuck at the mouth of the river was rescued.
Drivers are urged to exercise extreme caution while driving and use chains if necessary. Keep fuel in the tank and a charged cell phone in case you need to call for help.
