The Albanchez City Council has received a €20,000 grant from the Almería Provincial Council, Department of the Presidency, Demographic Challenge, Historical Heritage, and Tourism, aimed at local entities with a population of 1,000 or less for investments in municipal services.
The grant awarded was used for the project known as «Paving a section of the Cortijo Blanco road leading to the Fuente de Los Pilaricos area.»
Prior to the aforementioned work, part of the «Cortijo Blanco» road that provides access to the «Fuente Los Pilaricos» area had an unstable surface, hindering the movement of people and vehicles that normally access the farms and existing homes. The situation worsened during the rainy season, causing landslides and sinkholes, which further increased the instability of the area.
As a result of the above, and since this road is currently the only vehicle access route to the farms and some scattered homes, the aforementioned work was considered essential, which has been carried out on a section 250 m long and 2.50 m wide.
